Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
Welcome to Mazkits ("Mazkits", "we", "us"). We operate under the laws of the People's Republic of China. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mazkits, a macOS app for local redaction of sensitive information in text files, available at https://mazkits.com (the "Service"). By downloading the app, purchasing a plan or license, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you: (a) are at least 18 years of age; (b) have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms; (c) agree to our Privacy Policy at https://mazkits.com/en/privacy/; and (d) are authorized to enter into this agreement.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of the Service
2.1 What we provide
Mazkits is desktop software that detects and redacts sensitive information in text files entirely on your Mac. It is a digital product delivered over the internet (download plus a license key). We do not operate a third-party AI model as part of the Service.
2.2 Nature of the Service
The Service is an intangible digital product. Access to paid features is granted as soon as payment is confirmed and the license key is delivered. Because delivery is immediate, refunds are limited as described in section 7.
3. License, email, and device
- No website account is required. Provide an accurate email at checkout so we can send your license key and billing notices.
- Keep your license key confidential. You are responsible for use of the Service under that license. Do not share the key.
- If you notice unauthorized use, contact [email protected] immediately.
Each license may be activated on one Mac at a time. To move to a new machine, deactivate the old device through your payment portal, then activate on the new Mac.
4. Plans
We offer a free tier with usage limits, Pro monthly and yearly subscriptions, and a lifetime license. Current plans and prices are at https://mazkits.com/en/pricing/. We may change features or introduce new plans. Price changes for existing subscriptions follow section 5.
A lifetime license grants Pro features on one Mac without renewal. It may be revoked if a refund is issued or fraud is confirmed.
5. Billing and payment
5.1 Automatic renewal authorization
By providing a payment method and subscribing to a paid plan, you expressly authorize Mazkits, through our payment processor Waffo Pancake, to charge that payment method the then-current subscription fee on each billing cycle. This authorization continues until you cancel under section 6.
Your subscription renews at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel. For yearly plans, we will try to send a reminder before renewal.
5.2 Taxes
Unless stated otherwise, prices do not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for taxes that apply to your purchase. If required by law, we or the payment processor may collect them at checkout.
6. Cancellation
6.1 How to cancel
You may cancel a subscription at any time by either of the following:
- Online (recommended): the subscription management link in your purchase confirmation email or the Waffo Pancake customer portal

Cancellation stops future charges. We will send a confirmation when it is processed.
6.2 Effect of cancellation
- You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
- You will not be charged for later cycles.
- After expiry, the app reverts to the free tier.
- Account-related data is kept for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted under the Privacy Policy.
- Lifetime licenses are not subscriptions and are not cancelled by this process.
7. Refunds
Because the Service is a digital product delivered immediately, fees are generally non-refundable except as follows.
7.1 When we refund
- 30-day guarantee: you may request a full refund within 30 days of a purchase (subscription or lifetime).
- Duplicate charges caused by a billing error: full refund.
- Verified outage of more than 72 hours caused by us: pro-rata refund or extension.
- Statutory rights (for example a cooling-off period where the law requires one) are reserved.
7.2 How to request a refund
Email [email protected] with your purchase email, transaction ID, and reason. We will acknowledge within 2 business days and process eligible refunds within 5–10 business days through the original payment channel. A refund revokes the related license.
7.3 What we do not refund
- Requests made more than 30 days after purchase (except as required by law or section 7.1).
- Accounts closed for violating these Terms.
8. Billing disputes
If you think a charge is wrong, email [email protected] before disputing the transaction with your bank. We will reply within 2 business days and resolve confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.
9. Intellectual property
- You own the files you process and the redacted copies Mazkits produces. We do not claim those files.
- The Mazkits software, name, and site remain ours. Purchase grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on one Mac. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the software.
- Your files never leave your Mac. We do not use your files or redacted output to train any model.
- Redaction results may be incomplete. You must review output before sharing or relying on it.
10. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Violate applicable law, including laws on personal data.
- Circumvent license limits, device binding, or security features.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the software without our prior written approval.
- Reverse-engineer the software except where the law allows it.
- Use the Service in a way that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy rights.
11. Data, privacy, and security
Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy at https://mazkits.com/en/privacy/. Payment card data is processed exclusively by our PCI-DSS compliant processor (Waffo Pancake) and is not stored on our servers. Account-related data is kept for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted.
12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that redaction will be complete or suitable for any compliance requirement.
Important: Mazkits is an assistive redaction tool. Do not treat its output as a guarantee of legal, privacy, or security compliance. Review the result before you share sensitive data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or, for a lifetime license, the amount paid for that license.
13. Term and termination
These Terms apply while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your license for a material breach, suspected fraud, or as required by law. If we terminate for a reason other than your breach, we will refund unused prepaid amounts on a pro-rata basis. You may ask us to delete your purchase records by emailing [email protected].
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Before starting a formal proceeding, email [email protected] and try to resolve the matter informally.
15. General
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page at least 14 days before they take effect, and we will email you where feasible. Continued use means you accept the update. If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the rest remains in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us.
