Getting started with Mazkits

What Mazkits does

Mazkits detects personally identifiable information (PII) in text files and redacts it entirely on your Mac. Drop a file, review highlighted entities, choose a strategy, and export a clean copy — no uploads, no account.

Supported formats

.txt / .csv / .log / .json / .jsonl / .ndjson / .md / .tsv

Quick start

  1. Import — Drag a file into the window, or use the file picker. Clipboard and folder batch (Pro) are also available.
  2. Review — Preview highlights show detected entities (phone, email, ID, etc.). Click a highlight to skip it this run. Confirm the pending redaction overview.
  3. Strategy — Choose Mask (free), Hash, Replace, or Tokenize (Pro). Optionally override per entity type or use China / Global / Developer presets.
  4. Export — Click Start processing. Mazkits streams the file in Rust and saves to filename.masked.ext by default. Original files are never overwritten without confirmation.

License activation

Purchase on Lemon Squeezy → receive License Key by email → paste in the app (Activate). First activation needs brief internet access. After that, redaction works fully offline.

One license per Mac. To switch machines, deactivate the old instance in Lemon Squeezy first.

AI workflow (Pro)

Run mazkits mcp for Cursor / Claude Desktop integration, or use CLI commandsanalyze and redact in scripts. Text is anonymized locally before entering model context.

Privacy & airplane mode

File contents never leave your Mac. Enable Airplane mode in Settings to block all Lemon Squeezy HTTPS — detection and redaction still work locally.
